Last night reveilles and I cooked dinner. We had Salmon with an apple, mustard, and dill sauce and Asparagus with lemon and hot pepper flavored oil. Both recipes turned out really well and both were from Shirley O. Corriher's cookbook "Cookwise: The Secrets of Cooking Revealed". It was the first time I tried any of her recipes and am looking forward to trying more in the future.

Shirley O. Corriher, the food scientist on Good Eats?

Sounds tasty. Tonight we are having chicken paillard, cauliflower with butter sauce, and braised cabbage.

Yes, Shirley O. Corriher, the food scientist on Good Eats. When I was shopping for "I'm Just Here for the Food", I ran across her cookbook in the bookstore, recognized her name, and said to myself "I must buy a copy". I'd recommend her cookbook. Like Alton's cookbook, she provides scientific information in addition to recipes. However, she tends towards fancier and more complicated recipes than Alton, which means I'm more inclined to look to his book than hers when looking for a recipe.
