This year, reveilles and I baked:

We did things differently this year. I prepared all of the dough for the cookies over two weekends, froze the dough, and I baked all of the cookies on a third weekend (with a little help from reveilles). This worked really well since we have a small kitchen. It meant I didn't have to have all of the ingredients out at the same time as the cookie sheets and the cooling racks.

I also bought new mixing bowls that made preparing the dough much easier. On her blog, Rose Levy Beranbaum recently recommended Pourfect Bowls. They have a spout on them that makes it easy to add dry ingredients to a standing mixer without spilling. In the past, I've tried using regular bowls (and spilled flour on the counter) or used a flexible cutting board (and spilled less flour on the counter), but this year with the Pourfect Bowls I didn't make a mess. WOOT!
