Girl Genius, one of the comic books I have read for several years, is moving from a quarterly format to an online format with collections printed yearly. Girl Genius is written by Phil and Kaja Foglio and Phil was nominated for a 2005 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards for his work as writer and artist on Girl Genius.
Girl Genius is a Gaslamp Fantasy with Adventure, Romance, and Mad Science. The story opens as Agatha Clay, a student and Transylvania Polygnostic University, is having a really bad day. By the end of the first 10 issues, she ends up on an airship, meets a talking cat, builds some steam-powered robots, and falls in love.
If you have never read the comic book, you can start at the beginning of the story. If you have read the comic book, the story picks up where issue #13 left off. New pages are due out on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
The comic is rated Teen, for cartoon violence and the sight of Victorian Undergarments.
