As reveilles posted recently, we have had an ongoing saga with a charity we give money to. In the process of trying to tell them about my move and reveilles' name change, they have repeatedly scrweed up by mailing statements to the wrong address and failing to process her name change.

Yesterday, we received our most recent monthly statement from this charity and they managed to find a new and creative way to screw up. The last statement we received only listed one of the four people we wanted to give money to. So we wrote them a note listing the four people we wanted to give money to and sent them one check for the whole amount. The receipt we received with our most recent monthly statement showed all the money we sent in last month was given to the one person that was originally listed on the statement. They again ignored everything we wrote to them.

reveilles called them up yesterday and left a message and used a tone of voice I've never heard from her before. It was quite scary and I'm very glad she wasn't upset at me. She called them back today to followup, got a peon on the phone and immediately asked to speak to their supervisor. After a long conversation, the supervisor is supposed to fax us a copy of the information they have for us so that we can review it and iterate with them until they get it correct. **grumble** Why is a charity making it difficult to give them money???

The only thing they have managed to do successfully is change jcobleigh's address. My name change is still not processed, my address was still his old address, and their general incompetence was still driving us nuts. It is not helped by the cheerful and empty-sounding female voice in their automatic phone-answering system.

On the upside, this is a character-building experience.
