If dasubergeek can post a recipe for his balls, I can post a recipe for mine.

Rum Balls
Makes 60 1-inch balls

Sift together into a medium bowl:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa
Whisk together until well blended:
  • 1/3 cup rum (or bourbon)
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
Stir into the cocoa mixture. Crush in a food processor or electric mixer:
  • 2 1/2 cups vanilla wafers (about 75 wafers)
Alternatively, put the wafers in a sealable plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin or the bottom of a heavy saucepan. Mix with:
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Stir the pecan mixture into the cocoa mixture. Roll into 1-inch balls between your palms (the balls do not have to be even). Roll in powdered sugar. Store at room temperature between layers of wax or parchment paper in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks. I recommend making them at least one week before you want to serve them since they get better as they age.

Westfield Theatre Group socializes -- and eats -- almost as often as VLO. The favorite menu items there are Tom's Balls, Tom's Nuts and Tom's (cheese) Cookies.

And those Bum Bars are incredible!!
